Hair loss affects both men and women. It’s part of usual hair growth cycle to shed 50 to 100 hairs per day, and in most cases, they will be replaced. Hypothyroidism is a medical term for the underactive thyroid gland. An underactive thyroid produces too little thyroid hormone. This hormone is usually responsible for heart rate, mood, metabolism and the growth of hair, nails and skin. When the thyroid gland produces fewer hormones, then you can notice changes in body functions, and it can lead to hair loss. Consider having a synthetic thyroid medication to return your thyroid levels to normal and witness hair growth.

6. Anaemia

Most women suffer from iron deficiency anaemia due to heavy periods or lack of enough iron-rich foods. One of the primary cause of hair loss is Iron deficiency. This condition means that your blood does not contain enough red blood cells. Ensure your blood is tested by your doctor to determine the amount of iron in your body. You should also have an iron supplement and eat foods rich in iron.

Other hair loss causes include the intake of drugs for diseases such as arthritis, cancer, depression, high blood pressure, heart problems, birth control pills.  Too much intake of vitamin A could also cause hair loss.
